First responders with HFD, Ocean Safety and EMS responded to the Three Tables Beach after receiving a call of three snorkelers in distress around 3:30 p.m.
Two of them, a man and woman, were found shortly after rescue crews arrived on scene.
Meanwhile, lifeguards searched in the water and from the air to find the third snorkeler, a 29-year-old man. He was found about an hour later.
First responders gave him CPR and advanced life support before rushing him to to the hospital in critical condition.
The other two snorkelers suffered lacerations but did not require hospitalization.
Ocean Safety said warning signs have been posted at the beach.
